Our International Education Center is established in 2009, aiming to help students make transitions in the fast-paced world. The US Government report titled “A Blueprint for High Performance” indicated that “tomorrow’s workers will need to work on teams, teach others, serve customers, negotiate, and work well with people from culturally different backgrounds. Therefore, our purpose of the International Education Center is to foster and challenge our students in all areas of their language and cultural development so that they learn to develop the habit of pursuing excellent endeavor and to gain experience of the conditions they will face in the real world of work. Our center believes that all children can learn well and we make our goals to assure that all children achieve success in the English immersion environment. Also, the center believes that academic and personal success has a foundation based upon an educational model that revolves around student performance and the mastery of content. The three premises to our success-oriented model is: 1. We believe that all students can experience success in their learning from beginning skills into all levels of learning, including higher order thinking skills such as problem solving. 2. Success breeds success, and as students find that they enjoy learning, they will become successful life-long learners. 3. It is the school’s responsibility to provide the conditions for success. The goals of the International Education Center are set out to provide our students with: l The most refined and quality-assured English education, l A well-managed and professional team of foreign teachers, l A bilingual campus and an enhanced school image of internationalism, l Exposures of foreign cultures, activities that promote internationalism and cultural exchange, l Study tours abroad to countries such as USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore, etc., l Information of international competitions, l Consultation to English drama/theater/information competitions, l A bridge to build relationships to other schools and to form sister schools, l School English website and pamphlet production and continual support, l Tutoring of English proficiency tests such as Cambridge Testing Suites, GEPT, TOEFL iBT, SAT I & II, TOEIC, IELTS, etc. |
