The mission of our secondary education is to develop in each student a sense of his or her potential as an excellent and well-balanced scholar, a disciplined and responsible member of society as well as a caring, gracious citizen of the world.

Middle school level children are unique. They are moving developmentally from an adult-centered perspective to a wider view of their world where their own ideas and interactions with peers are crucial. These young people must be educated in a way that taps into their growing world view while giving firm support for their personal questioning and searching. The secondary school staff worked hard to develop a curriculum, an approach and a schedule that meets the specific needs of these students. This identity helps to build a school where children want to belong and want to contribute. Within this context teachers and their teaching is valued as the adults support and encourage their students.

TBDS adopts the Taiwan curriculum teaching materials and assigns certified teachers from Taiwan to be responsible for teaching major specialized courses. Without doubt, this teaching method can allow students to fully grasp the trend and guiding principle of the college entrance examination. Students can also find their ways to major universities of the world by ways of recommendation (Application to college entrance, school recommendation).

Presently, high school students graduated from TBDS have been admitted to National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, Jiao Tong University, and many more world-renowned universities. As well, many middle school students from TBDS have passed The Basic Competence Test for Junior High School Students and had scores that were able to get them to be admitted to the top three high schools of Taiwan; however, they chose to continue their studies at TBDS and later were admitted to major universities of both China and Taiwan.

For students who wish to study in universities in China, they can do so with the scores of their college entrance examination. Through the recommendation process of TBDS, students can then be admitted to major universities in China, including Beijing University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, and many more.
