To begin with, the establishment of TBDS is a reciprocal measure to counter the problems of schooling and family issues of the Taiwan businessmen’s families. On the one hand, TBDS is a public-service oriented school, established by the joint efforts of many unnamed volunteers and individuals; on the other hand, it is a genuine, modern institution founded on the spirits of science and culture. Students of TBDS are taught and disciplined with assiduity and studiousness, multi-cultural influences and perspectives, and arts and athletics, allowing them to reach their fullest potentials in this flat and conglomerated 21st century.

In 1995, Taiwan Businessmen's Dongguan  Association formed The Educational Enterprise Committee. Under the leadership of the second and the third appointed president, Ye Hong-deng, a group of individuals and volunteers worked together to make the establishment of TBDS a possibility, making TBDS the first school to be recognized by the governments on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. This is a monumental milestone in the education history of the cross-strait relationship. Currently TBDS has student body of over 1750 students and we will continue to provide a distinguished education for students in the years to come.
     TBDS total occupying area is 143,925 square meters, including the main Technology Building, Primary Education Building, Secondary Education Building, Cafeteria Building, Primary Student Dormitories (A~D), Secondary Student/Teacher Dormitory, Teacher Dormitory, Chinese Culture Hall, Library, English Library, Computer Rooms, Laboratories, 400 Meter PU Track, Life Camp, Indoor heated pool, Basketball Courts, Indoor Badminton Courts, Workout Room, etc.

• November, 3, 1999—The ground-breaking ceremony of TBDS and it is also the anniversary of the founding of TBDS.

• February, 19, 2000—The commencement of ground construction of elementary school educational building.

• March, 12, 2000—The commencement of ground construction of technology building.

• May, 23, 2000—Lee Jin-wei, Dongguan Secretary Municipal Committee of the CPC, Ye Hong-deng, President of TBDS, along with many local officials of Dongguan offered congratulations to the overall roof-sealing ceremony of TBDS.

• September, 2, 2000—Official opening of TBDS, establishing kindergarten, primary school, and middle school, with total student count of 698. And the official date for Principal Wu Can-yang to take over the office as the first principal of TBDS.

• January, 6, 2001—The inauguration of the first Parents Association Office, 59 parent representatives participated, each representing 59 classes.

• December, 2001—The commencement of annex to the ground construction of secondary school building.

• February, 5, 2002—The commencement of ground construction of secondary school student/teacher dormitory.

• August, 2002—TBDS founded its high school department and converted the kindergarten to as a subsidiary to the elementary school department, total TBDS student count up to 1106.

• August, 22, 2003—Principal Chen Jin-zhuang took over the office officially as the second principal of TBDS.

• August, 20, 2004—the ground-breaking ceremony of Life Camp, bringing students holistic learning, balanced education, and chance to expand self-exploration.

• November, 5, 2005—The Fifth Founding Anniversary Celebration of TBDS.

• November, 5, 2005—The commencement ceremony of Life Camp.
